Are you guys going to press these in with a balljoint style press (like you can rent from Autozone), or bring them to a shop to have them pressed in with a hydraulic press? I am leaning toward the latter, but wanted to see what the consensus is.

Thanks,
Paul

There is no pressing required except to get the OEM bushing out of your new (or used) arms.

The receiver and bearing are held in place via an interference (or press) fit and should be able to be assembled by hand. That is an additional benefit (IMO) of this assembly: easier to service and cheaper, limited in terms of reuse only by the life of the ball-joint.

Excellent! I had assumed that the receiver had to be pressed into the arm. Thanks for setting me straight.

Regards,
Paul

Sorry gents, I meant to get these shipped by now. We had a nasty stomach virus rip through the family and knock us all off of our feet for four days. I should be sending a handful out today.

Well, I broke down and bought the BMW ball-joint separator. Yeah, it's expensive but if I bought one of the other tools and it broke or didn't work for some reason . . . I don't think I could handle that right now. Hopefully by spending some money on a tool like this I assure that it will work for me the first time. I still have some other work to do on the car while I'm waiting for my new arms to arrive anyway.

I was planning on re-using the arms on there as I think the ball joints are fine. I'll check them when I pull it apart. Anyone else planning to do the same? I figured if I could save a couple hundred bucks I would, but maybe I'm making a poor choice...

Thoughts?
