As many of you know, the latest threat to high performance automobile drivers is LIDAR, or laser speed guns. What some may not know is that the technology to jam LIDAR is legal in many states and effective solutions ARE available. Note that this is not the case for RADAR - jamming is illegal, and effective jammers do not exist.
There have been other Group Buys before, but based on my previous dealings with Cliff, the sole authorized distributor of the LI in North America, I am pleased to be able to offer the best Group Buy pricing yet! It won't be easy, since our required volume is pretty high, but I think we can do it, and at worst we will get the regular group buy price.
I personally use a 2 head Laser Interceptor (LI), the laser jammer that has been rated the highest in independent testing conducted by Guys of LIDAR (GOL), an independent testing group. As you can see, the LI was effective at jamming every LIDAR gun, usually all the way to the gun (known as JTG – Jam To Gun - meaning the gun never got a speed reading)!
Beyond GOL, there are many independent videos showing LI results on the web, including here (long) and here. Do NOT be fooled by any nonsense from the retailers of Laser Star – the Laser Interceptor is the real deal, and the only one provento work against all guns in independent tests.

When it comes to laser protection, there are basically 2 questions you need to ask yourself: 1. Do I need protection from rear LIDAR or drive a large frontal area vehicle? 2. Am I interested in the extra layer of protection associated with greater jamming power?
Do I want 2 heads or 4?
Each end of the car needs 2 heads to protect it, so if you are only concerned about driving into a LIDAR trap, then you should get a 2-head unit. The 2-head units are the ones that were used to obtain the test results you see on GOL.
If the Law Enforcement Officers (LEO's) in your area also shoot from the rear OR if you drive a vehicle with a large frontal area (large pickup truck, tractor-trailer, etc) then you should consider a 4-head unit to protect the front.
Note that ALL control modules are capable of controlling 4 heads, so should you decide on a 2-head unit now, you can always add 2 additional heads later (although the heads are the expensive part, so it will cost more to do so). “Regular” or High Power?
If you are one of those folks who wants the best or appreciates an additional layer of security, then you should consider the purchase of a high power unit. These units cost more, but have a second diode and provide about 30% greater jamming power. In addition, the diodes are oriented with one horizontal and one vertical for better jamming effectiveness. These units are the equivalent of the prototypes originally tested by GOL that were able to JTGwhen usedon a huge camper!

No, you can’t. What you can buy on the internet are older versions without warranty. I asked the same question of Cliff before starting this GB, since otherwise there would be no reason for it. So what is the difference between the product offered on the internet versus this Group Buy? Internet:

I want one, but it is illegal where I live! What can I do?
The Laser Interceptor is also a parking aid, and parking aids are legal everywhere.
For a small fee (about $30, and available through the GB if you'd like) there is an additional, dual position switch you can purchase that will enable you to set your LI to Park Mode whenever necessary (version 7 switches from park to jam mode after about 10 seconds). Park mode will prevent you from jamming the officers gun, and allows you to demonstrate to the LEO that the heads are simply to help you park.

Excuse my ingorance on this matter, but how hard are these to install?
Not hard at all for a dual head (which is what I did). The switch fits perfectly in place of the cigarette lighter (unless you want it visible, but I didn't); the only things I removed were the plastic panel above the pedals and the shifter boot. Other than that, I was able to wire the whole things without removing any interior components. Under hood I removed the hood insulation panel to help run the wires (I mounted mine in the grill), but otherwise I didn't remove anything. I'd say 2-3 hours is probably sufficient. Quad might be a bit harder, but I can't believe it would be too difficult.
