I see. Well I certainly don't want to misinform anyone. My understanding is that the E36 brackets fit with some creative "installation" (i.e. bending and swearing) and that they too break, just not as often as the stock brackets. Am I myself misinformed?

They are not easily installed for sure. No bending was needed for me, DEFINITELY swearing was involved, but they went on. No signs of wear, I check them quite often, wondering if they will break. I have not heard of anyone else breaking them..... I may be misinformed myself. I do not mean to threadjack by any means.....

Interesting to know. It's too late for me though, I already put the "1." next to my name

Tim,

Thanks. The only reason I ask is that I would be concerned about the e36 M3 brackets not fitting the 17mm DINAN bar (which I just purchased).

well look at it this way, if you pick these up for $94 and it turns out your E36 brackets last for a year and you decide they're good enough, you'll at least break even when you sell an unused set of the TCD's since you're getting 25% off right now.

but no pressure

Not sure what size the stock bar is, but I would doubt if they would fit anything much bigger. It was quite the task to get those damn things on. No bending was needed, but it wasn't easy. Need to have both rear wheels off the ground or it will never happen.
