Active Autowerke Intake

I have been speaking with someone about AA intakes. I was able to negotiate a price of $735+s/h for the AA intake kit as long as I buy at least 6. So with myself at least 5 more buy at once. If anyone is interested, please PM me or reply.
If I knew I would be able to sell them for that I would buy all kits and sell individually. However, I don't know the want for these kits still. The E39 is starting to see its age. So, I will not collect anything from anyone until I get a commitment from at least 5 people.
Thanks.

Unfortunately I don't have the weight or size of the kit. I wouldn't be able to quote a shipping price myself. I am sure you can contact Active Autowerkes and get a price on shipping.

If we can get a list going, we can help setup a group order for these intakes. We can also arrange for shipping to Australia.

2 rings on the grill with flex pipe running to the intakes.

i wouldnt even call these intakes since the oem intake boxes are still there, all you are doing is removing the piping prior to the intakes and putting different piping that leads to the front of the grill.

Raz;

Gotta disagree with you Man. I have the AA CAI/Brake duct cooling. The difference is that the AA kit receives FORCEFEED cool/fresh air from those 3" rings. In combo with a "freshen up" re-flash from Powerchip....I realized a Seat-of-the-Pants" increse in acceleration.
I have to believe that there is a certain Ram-Air effect with this system.

Just my 2-cents. Best of luck with the motor thing

Steve

thats what im saying, its 2 rings with flex tube that is sent to the oem intake box.

you can get the grill with the rings from eurodyne for like $125 and then flex tube from home depot is another $20. flex tube is flex tube, the rings are metal, there is nothing fancy about this requiring a lot of R&D.if the AA kit replaced the intakes i could see it being worthwhile, but you can see what my argument is.

im not trying to turn anyone away, i just want to know if there is more to this setup.

and i should have the motor matter resolved pretty quickly if the pieces to the puzzle fall together like i want them to.

If I had it to over again, I would take out the stock aluminum ducts and have my own 3" ducts worked into them. The hose you could get from Home Depot etc, except you would have to make adjustment for the wate to be able to get out (I dont drive the Beast in the rain)
Regardless, I love the setup. I wouldn't pay the $900+ they get MSRP for it thogh.

The parts pic has all the parts included with the AA kit...from the grill down is AA(also in the pic, above the grill, are the tower braces, front end kit, and PSS9's)

As you can see from the installed pic the duct scoops the air flowing through it into the intake....may have some ramair effect at speed.

Closer pic of AA kit parts...all fit perfectly into OEM holes, etc.

Pic of front end with the AA kit installed.
