ESS SC related Clutch GB

I am pleased to announce that a GB for a high performance clutch has been approved and worked out!!! CNS is the provider and I am expecting a CNS representative to post shortly and answer questions and coordinate the GB.

The GB was designed for those getting the ESS SC kit, but it is open to anyone on the board!! I do not know how long it will last, but I suspect there will be some reasonable time parameters, especially in light of the ESS kit not due out for another month or two.

Ok, enough of the small talk you say, how it this going to help my wallet you ask??
Here is what we have worked out:

The CNS Racing Clutch kit Group Buy with the following discounts;

5-9 Orders
$2499
-$225 Forum member discount

=$2274

10+ orders
$2499
-$350Forum member discount

=$2149

These percentage discounts are in line with the ESS GB discounts, although the break point for the "better' discount is higher.

I believe CNS intends to create a special discount code so when you order you enter your code. I anticipate a sign up list here, so we can get a head count, so before you "commit" you know what the price is, but that is up to CNS. I do not know if a deposit is required or full payment, and I do not know delivery times. That is for CNS to fill in.

So, let's wait for the CNS rep to show up and them we can get all the details worked out!

Merry Christmas!

Regards,
Jerry

I'm on the fence between the CNS clutch and a UUC or Rogue V12 clutch conversion. The V12 obviously is bigger than the 10.5 inch CNS and has an organic facing rather than metallic and, thus, permits easier engagement and shorter break in period, but with a sacrifice in durability (i.e., more prone to glazing with abuse). As for the flywheel, the CNS has no gear lash noise, but is heavier. Finally, even with the GB price, the V12 is a little cheaper. There are virtues and vices to both. Not trying to start a battle about all of this. Just hoping to be convinced one way or the other.

Good points all. Intelligent discussion is healthy!

Guys
Been travelling the last few days so I haven't been checking in. Is this all the interest there is in a CNS clutch GB? If so, what is everyone else in the ESS SC GB doing for clutches??
Regards,
Jerry

I am interested and posted to the GB thread itself. I am one of the ESS depositors.

Jerry, I'm interested, but the pricing is about $300 more than the price for which I can buy an organic-faced UUC or Rogue V12 clutch with single-mass flywheel, and noone has yet convinced me that the CNS is better WITHOUT respect to price, much less $300 better! Still considering it, though.

FWIW.
I just bought the CNS clutch and handed it (along with my Beast) to my favorite Indy for install tomorrow.

I can tell you that the clutch kit is a piece of artwork from a visual perspective. The mechanic was quite impressed with the workmanship. It is clearly a non-organic ceramic plate. Neatly packaged.

Kudos to CNS for jumping through hoops to get this to me so quickly.
Customer service so far is top notch.

Time will tell on the performance. I will keep you all posted on my experience.
