Fitting M-sport front bumper?

Hi all,

finally sorted some time to get my brand new genuine M-sport bumper to my E39 528i. does anyone have any tips or a 'guide' on how to do it, i.e. where the bolts are, where the screws are etc... its a UK spec model so it may be slightly different to the US version but the principles are the same, im painting it this evening and fitting it tomorrow so all help would be appreciated! ive had a look on www.realoem.com and have the diagram but it doesnt show the actual fitment to the bumper re enforcement bar, only the constituant parts of the bumper,

thanks

David

Some fitting tips here:

http://www.540isport.com/DIY/M5front...umperparts.htm

removal is the reverse:

o 2 big bolts (star head) up through bumper, in grille area
o 2 small screws at rear (through wheel liner) each side
o the M5 has an undertray which is bolted to the bottom of the bumper (in 3 parts)

I think the UK & US bumpers are the same.

Good luck!

Simon

thanks simon, i had a look today but i dont have any star drivers so i cant take it off! lol with regards to the undertray, will my original 523i se E39 undertray fit? ive noticed there are 5 or 6 holes on the underside in each corner obviously where the undertray would attach, is this a problem? what about the original airbox feed? kind fo confusing as to how to mount the air ducts as there doesnt seem to be a place for the original airbox feed?!

well i had planned on the US spec M3 cam upgrade and imported a great set to do the conversion but ive since been told i will be leaving to the USA with work, so ive sold them to a tuning friend of mine so as for more mods? not at the moment as my car is currently up for sale. i wanted to do the M-sport upgrade:

Angel eyes and clear repeaters,
celis rears,
leather interior,
titanium interior trim,
underdrive pullys,
big bore throttle body and inlet manifold work,
someone on my other owners club has the exact same mods to his 2.8 E36 engine and his pushes out a proven 261bhp! which isnt at all bad! lol

what have you done to yours?
