Help with V1 hardwire & homelink

        Hi all,
I just picked up a new M5! - anyhow, I tried following the instructions on this website:
        http://www.ideaphile.com/bmw/v1/index.html
which are geneally instructions, but one thing I noticed is the green wire they talk about is attached to the homelink system. Im wondering if I will damage/ cut power to the homelink if I use this wire for the v1 hardwire install. It seems to me that it shouldnt cause any problem because the circuit would still be intact, but I dont know if this actually would cut off the circuit. any feedback is very much appreciated.

just in case anyone looks at this in the future- I got it to work by tapping into that green wire. as I suspected it wouldnt cut the circuit because both sides of the connector are metal- it just taps in to it. works great. here are some pics

Good to see you've installed the unit.

I noticed you have wires coming out of the UGDO area however if you look by the windshield, the wires from the rear view mirror goes thru a small rubber boot to the power source.

Maybe the above is hard to understand however you can PUSH the power wires out the same black rubber boot that's by the windshield. It'll give you almost a stock/clean look without wires hanging out.

Just follow the rear view mirror wires up and you'll find the area I'm speaking of.
