Which maintenance package would you guys recommend?

I just got my car and want it up to spec so Im thinking of performing the inspection 2 with some extras.

Im deciding between this package: BMW Maintenance Package E39 M5 2000-2003 : Bimmerzone.com

Or the standard ECS package: BMW E39 M5 S62 5.0l > Search > Redline Transmission Fluid > ES#258716 E39 M5 Inspection 2 Kit - E39M5IN2

What do you think? Car is an 00' with 47k miles

Thanks

Sounds like 47k is too early for Insp II, but it's your car and your peace of mind. An oil change, and used oil analysis would be a good start. Air filters you can inspect with about 5mins effort.

I would look at the condition of all items before buying the package. it is 2 minutes to look at air and cabin filters, maybe 45 minutes to check at least 1 spark plug, 15 seconds to check oil level/dirt.... I would to FI cleaning - before replacing spark plugs - with Seafoam? since car is 2000... I would definitely change other fluids if they were never replaced since it is a 11-12 yr old vehicle!!!! no fluid is 'lifetime'.....at least i don't believe it

Question: If ECS sells the Inspection II kit for $260, why does Inspection II from the dealer cost $2k? Is there really $1750 in labor to change some filters and fluids?

If you can do the labor yourself, $260 is definately worth the peace of mind, though you are early for Inspection II.
