HID Group buy?

Hello all,

Just wondering if anyone would be interested in HID's (H* with ballast and your choice of Colour/brightness.)

These would replace your existing bulbs.. Doesn't have to be on a BMW's.

under £100

Let me know..

Thanks

Hi Burton,

Yes, I am interested in fitting an HID system. The lights at present are rubbish!

A few questions however........What do you get for the £100? What sort of quality are they? Are they easy to fit? Is it £100 each side? Does the HID replace dipped and main beam?

Many thanks,

BenS

What is meant by Dipped? This side they are called high and low. HID setups would generally replace both lamps.

I was under the understanding that this is for everything you would need to convert. I woul dhave to check if this replaces High and Low ( Dipped and Main)

I will check with my supplier and post the details and pics later on.

Those interested in this Litronic gas discharge kit should do a search on this board for previous information on the subject.
There are some concerns.
Its for the purchaser to decide if the kit makes the grade.
I would ask if the kit meets iso /TUV stds ?
Has the kit passed Ingress protections std IP 66 or not ?
Moisture ingress into the integrated ballast / igniter when 24,000 volts are generated at the ballast for a period of some 4-8 seconds & some 8,000 volts constant after the initial energising of the system takes place could create some interesting fireworks.

Good luck guys.
Farrell

Would it be viable for plebeians from North America to participate? I have read several threads regarding this topic, and have been hesitant to throw good cash at dodgy stuff sold on eBAY , or suppliers that can't answer basic questions as proposed by Farrell, either here or in other posts.

As Farrell seems to be the resident guru on various ///M5 topics, I trust his seal of approval and would proceed, if it's cost viable from my geographic location "Western Canada", we have the Queen on our currency here.

I have recently fitted a kit to my car after much research on the topic using the search function onthis forum. I willl say that after the limited mileage i have done with mine, anyone that is considering the upgrade, you will not be disapointed, main beam is no longer needed due to the amount of light given off of dip. I have an 8000k kit which gives quite ablue light,a little too bling for some maybe but i am very happy with it.

I want an upgrade too, but believe it or not, I like to keep the 90's look on my car. I love Simon and Kons' Xenon look, but I hesitate.

Fact is that I need better lighting on the M5, I hated the E34's light power since the first one I had, and even my newest lowest miler E34 had insufficient lighting IMO, especially compared to the E38/39 I had.

Are there any yellow or white glowing kits available?
