I know you CA guys must price accordingly to the value of the cars in USA, but still, for that amount of money plus shipping, it must look at least 600% better than the last carbon hood I saw.

I am afraid however that it will be sagging and the large unsupported square area won't vouch for superb fitment either.

Sorry to pi$$ on the barbeque, but must stay honest. The only CF bonnet ; hood ever to go on my car must be VERY close to OEM fit, i.e close enough for me to MAKE it fit like OEM

hi gents

yes I will be first to agree this seems expensive, but that is what such parts cost I am afraid. Pricing is calculated on cost of raw materials , molding charge and labour , NOT on country of the car. This hood is on offer to any M5 owner in any country

For the record you will never get 100% fit on any carbon hood by any manufacturer, only BMW themselves achieve this.We and other quality manufacturers get pretty damn close though.

Please also remember this is primarily a race part, not a show part and is 100% pre preg as stated, and a one off hand made custom job, hence the cost.
What this means is it will NOT sag or be weakened at any point, not is as much understructure required. Not sure who made the last carbon hood referred to on one of the replies below but sounds possibly like a composite core with carbon overlay.

Regardless of all the above , we are now dropping the cost on this item to $2250.

thnaks for reading

We have the same view.

Its not a readily available part for most guys and I think it will be sold on your side of the ocean anyways, but most likely to USA like I said.

Wout

Price does not seem very unreasonable. When you say it is 100% Pre preg Race Carbon, I assume that it is autoclaved dry carbon. Is that correct? If so the price is what I would expect. We sell the same quality parts for Lotus and a part that size would cost a little over 1k USD ( http://www.sector111.com/handler.cfm...nction=product ) However, this porduct is more complicated then ours thus more cost in maufacturing, and the market is even smaller again raising cost. If I were still going to gut and track my car, and you were local (shipping that to the states would kill me) I would jump on it. I didnt realize there was product like this out there for the M5. Good luck with the sale mate!
