M Parallel wheels

Have a question for the board; I'm searching for a set of M Parallel wheels for my '93 3.6. Would anyone have a set for sale at a reasonable price? Also, I have found a set of "TT" wheels through an out source of Discount Tire. How close are they, visually to the actual wheel? Is it the same casting? Do they have the same recess in the wheel for the "M" logo? Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jonathon,
Its difficult to give a straight answer since the replicas can all be slightly different. My e39 has replica M Parallels, they have the recess and the M badge but have a polished finish instead of silver. The different finish looks brilliant but due to the inferior quality the laquer is peeling and the colours on the M badge have faded.
I had a replica set also for the e34, these were heavy, silver in finish and did not have the M logo recess. I've now got a genuine set for the e34 M5 and would recommend these over replicas. Be careful when buying since the e38 7 series has the same wheel but the finish is different and so is the offset. You're looking for wheels with an offset of 20 at the front and 22 at the rear, preferably sporting 235/40/18 and 255/35/18 tyres respectively. If you want I can post you some pictures of the e39 replicas and the e34 genuines.

P.S I've just returned from a 10 day trip to Houston/San Antonio/Wichita Falls/Fort Worth/Dallas/Austin and absolutely loved it! The Riverwalk at night is lovely and makes a pleasant change from the places i usually frequent here in London!

Hope this information helps, it must be hard getting parts there, i saw hardly any BMW's especially e34's.

regards,

MIKE.

Mike, Hey, I the appreciate the response, and I got a set of rather high quality replica wheels, and I also have added a racing dynamics strut bar, and Umnitza Halo Xenon lights. My next upgrade is most likely going to be the Dinan sway front and rear sway bars. If you were here in San Antonio, and actually saw an E34, especially an M5, it was most likely mine. I am having a bit of a problem with getting everyone working with my lights, especially my halos, high beams, and fog lights. You wouldn't have any suggestions as to what might be the solution to my little quandry, would you?

Hi,
I've never tried fitting Halo's before so my knowledge is limited, do you mean the lights don't actually work or is there just an error message on the dash saying they are'nt working? The problem could be to do with the compatibility of the Halo set with the cars LKM ( light control module ). I've heard of this problem before, i'm sure there are posts on here covering this so your best bet is to have a search.
As for the M5 sighting, unfortunately the only e34's i saw were standard one's!

regards,

MIKE.

Mike, Hey just wanted to let you know, I got everything working on my lights, so, keep watch on the image board, I'll post some shots of them, as well as the other upgrades that I've done.
