morning Mike. How's the M3 coming on?

Oil service, approx £95.00
Insp I approx £385.00
Insp II approx £435.00

They are what I have been charged over the past couple of years under the 4+ scheme that my dealer operates under. The prices are approx, as they do not include any additional items that may be needed at the time of the Inspections i.e. brake pads etc. but do include the valve adjustments carried out in the Insp II.

Clutch, no idea I'm afraid.

Cheers Andy,

The M3's coming along great!!

It had an inspection I at 47k miles. Its done 52k miles now so I guess it will be ready for an oil service soon. There is only one green light lit on the service indicator.

I priced up a clutch this afternoon at Bowkers (main agent) in Preston Lancs. The 2 separate prices below show retail and with 10% discount they offered me.

Clutch disc and driven plate £205.63
Bolt £0.84
Gasket £17.42
Labour £272.18
TOTAL £496.08

With 10% disc this drops to:

Clutch and plate £185.07
Bolt £ 0.75
Gasket £15.68
Labour £244.97
TOTAL £446.47

All these prices INCLUDE VAT.

I am shocked at the labour price considering the M5 had a new clutch for £352 all in. The clutch parts were £ 205, so only £ 150 ish was labour. I guess the M3 clutch must be a more time consuming job!!

Anyway not to worry!!

Regards

Mike

P.S I priced tyres at Bowkers too. £ 95 + VAT for Goodyear Eagle F1's. It has Yokohama's all round at the moment, but the backs have only a bit of mileage left! What have you got on yours, and what do you recomend? Cheers

I've got Continentals on mine 235's all round, it had them from new at the time, and I've just stuck with them, I'm more than happy with them, ride is good with no intrusive road noise, and the grip in both wet and dry is very good.
Prices, well I paid about £235 for the rears, and that included fitting and balancing, but I could have got the tyre cheaper over the net (& they included vouchers for fitting etc) but I did not have a credit card they accepted!
Theoretically, the rears last approx 12k and the fronts up to 18k, but I have exceeded that, depends on your driving. Then again my other cars used to suffer with worn outer/inner edges etc, but I have the pressures checked every weekend, and check the tyres every couple of weeks for wear etc to prevent that from happening.
