My friend hosted a local MFest event at his garage (Topline in Burlingame) this past Sat. There were about 9 M5's from 4 generations (only 1 e60 M5) showed up and as expected there were a bunch of M3's. About 50 MCars/others showed up with probably 100+ people attending. A few mfrs reps were there (Remus, Celette) and got to meet some gearheads. Very nice weather, good food and some nice cars. Notably a nice e30 turbo, a s/c e36 Mcoupe, and a twin turbo 850. My favorite was a very clean E9 3.0 CSi which didn't enter the show. Overall great time. Oh and my beast took top honors for the M5's. My camera is ok but I am a terrible photographer so I hope you still enjoy the pics.

Nice pictures. Man a twin turbo 850CSI is amazing. Those 850CSI's are pretty much on par with the E39 M5, same HP, more torque and slightly ligther 6spd manual with limited slip. Amazing for its time!
Twin turbo is even better...

not quite, they were 380 bhp with 4300 lbs to lug around. Granted, they did have an extra 38 lb/ft but I'm pretty sure the E39 could take one since they ran well over 5 secs 0-60 and almost 1 second slower in the 1/4 mile too...
That said, they really were fantastic GT cars with head turning styling. Way ahead of their time indeed!

Sorry maybe i was thinking of the "860" cant remember one night i spent like 3 hours reading stuff on wikipedia lol.
But still you have to admit, in 1992 something making 396hp and 410tq, 6spd manual, limited slip, is pretty damn impressive. I guess those are euro spec numbers but still impressive nonetheless.
Anyways id love to have one minus the supposed electrical nightmares they are.
