I wanted to start a thread to keep track of the incoming US Agera RSs as Koenigsegg re-enters the US market.
So far we have confirmed:
Manny Koshbin - clear carbon - probably #122-126?
Plausible:
Kris Singh (LamborghiniKS) posted this photo on Instagram: https://instagram.com/p/83ZJjxhPmE/
The hashtags and orange hint at it. Also owner of #102 made a comment on Instagram regarding KS getting an RS. 128+
I wouldn't be surprised if there were a few more out there to find.
I think KS might have an earlier car than MK?
Other than those two, iv'e heard about 5-6 other orders, non are completley confirmed though.
I remember someone mentioning Manhattan motorcars having 3 cars on order a year or so ago?
I would think KS' order is behind MKs, MK posted confirmation of the order 15 weeks ago, KS only recently visited the factory to test drive cars and what not.
KS should have a chassi number close to 7127, maybe 28 or 29. That is if the US cars doesnt get pushed back during the time Koengsegg are getting it US legal (or is this 100% ready yet, dont think so? Facts someone?). He has been keeping this order a secret much longer then people think. MK should have a much later one.
Owner of #102, and yes I also think he has a much earlier car than MK. I think another instagrammer has a carbon Regera on order but no confirmation yet
Earliest car I know of is an RS going to SoCal with spring 2016 as delivery date (was at least that a couple months back) but as Joey says it's very possible they will be delayed due to U.S testing, Pagani had a load of U.S Huayras built and put into storage at the factory due to delays.
I think KS getting an RS might be the worst kept secret around. Nothing confirmed but all the evidence around points to it. I wouldn't be surprised at all if his was even the first delivery.
As far as U.S. certification, I keep checking and nothing pops up yet but that doesn't mean it's not in the works. Directly after Geneva I heard 3 cars (not sure of Regera/RS mix) ordered through LFSC alone. That number has likely increased since then. Some time ago I was told that certification was on schedule "for once" and that first U.S. deliveries were expected summer of 2016. The minute I see/hear something official on cert status you can be sure I'll post it up.
Last conversation I had with Manhattan Motor cars, there were 3 RS on order, and one Regera, keep in mind this was all pre-unveil. I would imagine there are double those numbers now, if not higher. I think the U.S will get 8 RS, seeing that the gatekeepers Manny and Kris have joined the movement, there will be other lesser known millionaires that will also buy. I'll reserve judgement for Regera sales until we see how the EU sales go.
#128 is just about to get started (probably within a week or so?), so I think a buildthread will come soon.. Where, I don't know, but probably very similar to #110's thread on Teamspeed, along with Koenigsegg doing some blogposts about it on their website.
Would you look at that.. I wasn't completely wrong about the time then! It's nice to hear that they'll involve the customer in the story, and going a bit off topic, I'm a little surprised that they verify #120 like that!
To be honest, I'm not. Over the last year or so it's been truly amazing seeing how enthusiasts all over the world are using the car numbers when they are sharing photos or talking about them. I've said before, Koenigseggs are so rare that the release of each new one out of the factory is an event akin to the arrival of a new child. Short of giving them names, it's the best way to personalize each one and acknowledge that each is unique and special in its own way.
So it's not really a surprise that the factory has now bought into this notion. Ferraris are special but built by the thousands. Koenigseggs are individually world famous.
I would agree with what Matt says, this is Koenigsegg's way to build a more faithful brand following, by putting emotion into their following / followers towards a particular vehicle, not just the brand. By using the cars chassis numbers as a name, people can better identify with the brand because they know each car that they like. Whereas someone who has an affinity towards Laferrari can only like certain colors, or schemes. They don't really fall in love with a certain car, unless it is a wild paint scheme like the green one in England. Effectively Koenigsegg is making their brand easier to relate to, and people can follow the growth of a car, and follow it's journey, without mistaking it for another chassis. For me, this is one of the things I love most about the brand, and why I choose to work so closely with them here in North America, I can see a car, and instantly begin to track where it has been, who has seen it, who has driven it, and it tells a story.
There is a RS and Regera order placed by "The King" a.k.a Sparky18888 on Instagram. He is from the Hartford, CT area. Currently stable is a Pagani Huayra and a Lamborghini Aventador. He has also placed a order for the new Bugatti Chiron as well I have heard.
Trying to figure out how many Agera RS the US will get.
1. KS - probably Manhattan Motorcars
2. Mannykoshbin - not sure what dealer used - maybe the one in Walnut Creek?
3. Sparky188888 - I know we all thought this was a joke but there was a post about him getting #25/25 and based on the comments it seemed legitimate.
4. IG Brianrusi - one of Salomondrin's friends - mentioned in comments of Sparky1888s post - also apparently #25/25 from Miller Motorcars
5. LFSC car
6. LFSC car
7. LFSC car
I think Manhattan Motorcars got 3 or 4 allocations and LFSC has 3 orders. MK may not have ordered through Manhattan Motorcars.
I think when this is all sorted out we could possibly see 9-10 US Agera RSs
