New York Times article on the blue Koenigsegg CCX

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/06/au...es&oref=slogin

"While the Koenigsegg felt as raw and bracing as a hurricane, it was also more approachable than some supercars I’ve driven from vastly larger, richer and more experienced companies. I’m thinking here of the Mercedes SLR McLaren and the Lamborghini Murciélago.
And compared with the Bugatti, perhaps even more of a simple-Simon supercar, I’d give the Koenigsegg the edge. First, the Koenigsegg is a prettier way to spend seven figures. And I preferred the tactile sensations of its open roof, rear drive and manual transmission to the Bugatti’s closed cockpit, all-wheel-drive and dual-clutch automatic.
Finally, at a twiggy 2,821 pounds, the Koenigsegg weighs about 1,400 less than the 4,200-pound Bugatti. All the Bugatti’s glorious technology can’t compensate for a poundage penalty equivalent to the original Mini.

My blinding date with the car lasted roughly three hours. And while I was dying to take this Nordic supermodel home and show it off, I was also grateful to hand the keys back, my body and my driving record still unscathed."

Welcome! How is your blue CCX doing? When will we see it in Road & Track or Car and Driver?

Greetings from Sweden. Here is a CCR Evolution owner in Sweden: Koenigsegg CCR Evolution

How did you like our little Ferrari 430 Scuderia vs Koenigsegg CCX test?

YouTube - Koenigsegg CCX vs Ferrari 430 Scuderia 50-300km/h = GTBoard.com

Again, welcome!

World Class Driving

My friend Roland sent this to me.

Hello, the WCD tour is done!! The 200 mph event was great and 3 clients made the 200mph club. I didn't; even after 15 runs in several cars. The braking zone was way short and I didn't feel like taking a risk at this stage of my life!! They made 201 and were happy, but all the cars were out of brakes, rotors and tires. Even the carbon rotors on the 599 were peeling!!! The SLR calipers were yellow from the heat!! The R8 kept running but top speed was in the high 170 depending how the entry of the runway was taken. The bestof all, was the new Lambo 560-4. She ran 12 runs with many clients and did well licking the 200 each run.
All that was done after a full morning on a road course where the cars were driving to the max!!! No wonder that brakes etc.. were gone!
Next time, the cars will have slicks that will allow to get to the 200 before the braking cones. That would make things less hairy at the end!! Also, they will be better on the very abrasif surface.
We will start again January 9th, WCD has booked a full house for it! The new 640 Murcie will be deliver in February! I hope that the Afla C8 will be at the next run.The Scuderia should be back too but the regular 430 ran VERY well with 40 K miles on it !! The Koenigsegg was a MAJOR disapointment to all. She did a few runs ( 206) with Theys driving but died after that. I never had a chance to make a full run... Sure looked cool ! The Veyron never came ???
Hell of a season for me, I never drove some many crazy cars like that and done so many miles with them .14K on the Scuderia, 1200 in the Ford GT, 800 in the SLR, 1500 in the Superleggera, 800 in the Grand Tourismo, 800 in the 599, 750 in the Bentley Speed etc...
I liked a lot the R8 and the GTR( gone). Some experience for me.
Happy Holidays to all
Roland

Roland's quotes about the Kegg...
"in the Kopenigsegg before she "died" on and off..."

"a very disapointing Koenigsegg"
