That was not the experience I wanted to hear I hope you feel OK with your arm!

Things had been surprisingly calm and I won the prize trophy for best non-American car at the show.
Once home the passenger door would not open from the outside. As the window was down I decided to put my arm in through the open window and try and open the door using the inside door handle. Big mistake. The window then decided to go up trapping my arm. It was like the car was trying to lock itself.
I thought it would stop but no it was trying to slice through my arm. I started screaming but nobody could hear me as I was home alone. The pain was excruciating and I thought Jesus I am going to lose my arm as the blood supply was being cut off. After 5 minutes of panic I used my other hand to force the window away from the Egg enough to scrape my arm out and ran inside to run it under a cold water tap. My arm is still purple today nearly a week later.
As for racing - nobody has actively taken me on for a race. Most cars seem to move out the way on the motorway when they see the Egg coming. However I do get alot of tailgaters in regular traffic trying to take photos as close as they possibly can. I feel like I should have a sign saying "back off."
Sorry to hear that Shoebag. Give the factory the feedback because it sounds like your correct in that its some kind of locking sequence.
It could be either
1) triggered by the cabin intrusion sensors(?) as you reached into the car (you say the door would not open which suggests the car was locked, and security armed?)
2) it just triggered by fault.
1. you could do with knowing about, 2. the factory could do with knowing about.
What a great thread. Unbelievable cars, actual owners and then the best the owners are womenWow their dads taught them well. I would love to see a TV series...lets say something like sex in the city but with cars instead of Cosmopolitans. I smell hit; remember you heard the idea here first Shoebag has already cast it. Hope your arm is better and you are cool.

Shoebag: I have a replky to you with video regardign your door straight form Christian von Koenigsegg and from the Koenigsegg factory

Thanks that sounds interesting. I did not bother telling them about it as the only time I seem to contact the factory is when something goes wrong with the car.
When you lock the car via the remote, you will get a visible notification that the car is locked (via the turnsignals). The immobilizer is automatically enabled after the car has been turned off for five minutes. When the immobilizer is active the exteriour doorhandle will not work. You have to push the remote again to disable the immobilizer for the next five minutes. This immobilize does not work with any radio frequenzies or proximity sensors: it is pure time that decides when it should activate.
So probably you had left the car for five or more minutes so the exteriour handle was deactivated.
On the CCR the windows go up a default distance everytime you close the door. It also goes up if you touch the inside handle. The distance the window goes up is decided by timing: it goes up during a certain period of second(s). On the CCX however it is smarter and stops when it reaches the end, it is not timed. Also, for the CCX to pass US homologation, the window electronic motors have to have a sensor that halts the windows motion whenever it senses increased resistance. Because if the CCR was not sold in the USA it does not have this feature.
Summary
The door could not open because of the immobilizer that is activated automatically by time after five minutes was engaged
The window came up a specified distance when you touched the handle and it did not have the feature of sensing something was blocking it's travel to close the window, since it was decided to run on a specified time.
So for next time just push the remote once to reactivate the exteriour handle and disable the immobilizer.

Shoebag. One question.
Think about you want to replace your 'Segg with another hypercar.
I know it's not going to happen, but if it does... Which one you'd buy?

below you have a reply regarding this battery issue as well from Christian von Koenigsegg personally.
"Most likely there has been an electrical consumer active during the period the car has been parked. For example if the interior light is switched off, it is easy, on the CCRs, to miss that the door is fully closed or not.
If a door is only closed to the first "click" it can almost look perfectly closed, but the door light will still be on, but not visible. If the interior light of the car is on this will indicate the situation, but if it is switched of it will not.
This door light can drain the batteries quite heavily during a weekend for example. Therefore it is very important on the CCRs to make sure the door is fully closed - or that the battery switch is off. On the CCX model there is a timer, so that no matter what, the door light will be switched of 5 minutes after the door is closed to the first point or until the alarm is activated, to avoid this situation ever happening. The CCR owners has to be a bit more aware in order to avoid this situation."

However on Monday morning the naughty Egg would not start. The ignition came on but the starter motor would not engage. At this point I became a little upset as the car just had new batteries fitted at the UK Koenigsegg dealership.
Anyway my friends who were staying at the same hotel gave me a tow in their C5 Corvette and the engine started.
My car is back now in the UK at the dealership yet again to see what the problem is. The air con is also not working even though a new air con compressor was fitted last November.
