Gumball 2007 Route Confirmed.

I Got this today..

Hi Steve,
Just thought that we'd give you a heads up on the next rally before we go live on the website in a couple of weeks,

London to the Middle East!
28th April to the 6th May
A rally like this has never been to that part of the world.

The cost is £24k (its £28k for new Gumballers) so £12k each.
What you get for your money? - A 7 day, 3,000 mile rally, 120 cars ranging from a Ford capri to the new Bugatti Veyrons (looks as though we may have three sign up for '07). 5 Star hotels at every stop, outrageous parties (we are teaming up with Ministry of Sound this year to help take care of this!),
3 major concerts and racetracks en route. We are already in talks with some of the worlds biggest music artists as we speak. You will also have to expect the now customary insane receptions en route with fans cheering you on from every bridge and street corner.

London-Paris-Venice-Dubrovnik-Thessaloniki-Istanbul-Beirut.

We will flow some more of the highlights as and when they are confirmed but let me know if you are in as soon as possible so that we can arrange for a deposit to hold your space. Deposit is 12k with the rest payable in full by November,

So it is now official: Max is taking the piss with the price! Oh well, so I am not doing G3K in 2007

While I can accept Max et al making a living, I am not prepared to be bent over and royally rogered without lube! At the very most this rally should have cost 15-17K per car.

12K for 7 days? For what? A hotel (200 Euros), some food (about 50pence), a party (lets be really effing generous and say 200 Euros). I seem to remember that this year's rally was going to have concerts everywhere (a 90 minute set by Snoop Dog does make a concert!), but nothing happened. So Max wants to charge 2,400 Euros per day per person when the cost is not above 500?

Prices are really gettin' outta hand!

Why not enter 6 D5's under M5board.com label and sharing them with 24 members of this board?
As well as having a lot of fun we could also qualify ourselves for the Guinness book of records "world's fastest convoy"

Because sadly Max has already thought of this. The 24,000 GBP buys entry for a car with 2 occupants. Any additional occupant incurs extra charges (probably between 8,000-12,000 GBP per person!).
