Thanks.
To participate you should mainly have the right "Gumball spirit" and some 8.000 GBPs (about 14.000 USDs).
You'll find the best reply from the Official Gumball 3000 web site at www.gumball3000.com There is a section "2004 rally" where you can still find the form for this year's Gumball. That should give you a good idea.
Re: Terms and conditions to be a member of next Gumball
Since this year's edition, it seems everybody and their brothers want to participate to the 2005 edition (including myself). I was at the Carlton hotel in Cannes when this year's participants arrived and i caught the gumball fever too so i'm kind of anxious about being able to join in.
What worries me is that previous years' gumballers have a priority to join, which is more than normal. Then, celebrities have a priority. Again, it's normal. But it means that there should remain very few seats available and the competition might be fierce.
Any advice from actual members on do's and dont's ? was the rejection rate high this year ? What brands/models to avoid ? For example there are so many ferraris and already a few 550/575s. If you enter a Koenig 550 twin Turbo, do the organisers say : oh boy, not another ferrari ! or do they consider it as "unique" ? Same for SLs. Would a Hamann SL with Gullwing doors secure an entry or be considered one SL too many ?
Any tips will be gladly appreciated because i already got brokenhearted to be at the same time at the Carlton (where i've been a regular for some years) and outside this great gumball atmosphere. I really dont wanna miss next year's edition.

you are right on who gets to go..... i heard they rejected a lot of people from the US but because i was from hong kong...the quota is different.... so if you tell him a nice story of who u r.....and u have a very unique car....then your chances of going is much better. hope this helps you.

Cool !! Who would have thought that the civil rights movements would lead to Affirmative Action in the Gumball !! Ha ha... There wasnt a lot of french people this year is that right ? If my frenchness can help me enter, i'm gonna shout "I'm french and i'm proud of it" then do a James Brown whiz !! With or without the wig i dont know.
