Players Run - Rally from Los Angeles to Miami

You probably saw it on the banner:

There's going to be held a road rally from Los Angeles to Miami in November: the Players Run. The Players Run is held between 15th November 2002 - 23rd November 2002. Several Gumballers are very interested and some of them already promised to come.

You find further information about the Players Run on

www.playersrun.net

For the European fellas: Shipping the cars from Europe to Los Angeles and back from Miami to Europe is going to be organized. The Players Run headquaters have to know until midst of October who's is going to ship his car to America.

Are you going ?

I might be interested, though I'm somewhat sceptical about this thing, there are so many of these rallys at the moment and some are about to be crap.

If you are going, let me know the details.

Re: Re: Players Run - Rally from Los Angeles to Miami

I agree. Since gumball, there's been so many of these runs coming out of nowhere. Now, with that said, I do understand that the primary focus of this run is for the make a wish foundation. This is a noble cause, however I am assuming that people would be sick of these runs now?

My 2 cents.

We're definately going, because you will never forget such an experience. Gumballers know what we're talking about and so some Gumballers already promised to participate in the Players Run.

As Markus wrote in another topic:

Nothing compares doing an event like the Players Run or Gumball ... the excitement, the adrenaline rush, to hear the truckers on radio when another group of 10 exotics is flying by, to see the cops smiling and giving you thumps up, to have the best time with the coolest people (and new friends).

The difference between Playersun and other runs like the Gumball :

- Only 100 cars and it is very selective
- Hotels will be the best of the best every night
- Pitstops with hairraising events
- Much more networking : Everyone will know everyone right off the start
- More time to talk racing, a little bit less endurance ... but not much. We shave off a little bit by adding an extra day to the run.
- Charity (Make-A-Wish-Foundation) is highest priority

This is the first time for the Players Run, but not the first time for us to organize events. And of course we are working in co op with destination management companies and our charity.

The event is being held by a very well funded team, the (confirmed) media interest is huge, the competitors unreal (one participant is a well-known person from this board), the hotels and events are $$$$, and the sponsors, despite the relatively short notice, go full force with us! Yes, we even have celebs ( for the ones who care )...

Have a look at

www.playersrun.net

and fill out the application. Every selected driver gets an invitation with detailed information.

I rather see 10 grand in extra ordinary events...
But, maybe thatīs only me.

If a charity is going to benefit from this event, wouldn't all participants be able to claim the appropriate amount as such?

Yes, there are quiet a few runs popping up, but most of them have very limited funds or resources. It is very easy to build a little website ;o)

The Playersrun team is a big international and experienced team.Staff size is 20+ and we spend big $$$, actually $$$$ on preparation...We make sure that this rally will be superior !

People do not get sick of the runs,if it was a good run. Simply because it is the most amazing thing.

Of course there will be some people who will not do it again, because they had to drive for 15 hours straight through the night and then have to rest in some motel...but those were flaws from other runs and we will not have those in the Playersrun.

Who cares about the charity ? We care ! A lot ! And the events don't suffer a bit from it, it is the opposite .
We actually have more opportunities for the events, since you can't always buy the real unusual , you have to get special permissions for it .

I really don't understand the need to pay an obscene about of money for luxury hotels, it's not the hotels you'll remember after the race but the race itself.

Personally I think it's a waste of money,l Id be there to race, talk to fellow participants and have a good time, not to brag about staying in expensive hotels and attending fancy parties and what not.
It's a good idea to give money to a charity but again, people don't enroll to support whatever charity but to race.

Another info regarding the Players Run:

After putting the stickers of the Players Run and our sponsors on your car you are allowed to put stickers of your company on the car, too!

We are also producing a coverage about the Players Run which will be sold to a TV station. Every car will be shown with your stickers in that special. Great advertisment for your company! Besides we're going to produce a Players Run DVD.

Isn't that a great benefit to participate in the Players Run?
