Which is far more better than a Mazda Racer in my opinion..
PLay nice......
I think in the upcoming videos from your homeland, you will see the mighty Audi act as backmarkers....
They seriously have to think about their whole Quattro story if they want to be serious sports car people. They will never have a serious sports car with Quattro.
You never have enough HP to compensate for the drivetrain losses.
BTW, BMW & Porsched figured this out awhile ago.....

there is no such thing as 6% drivetrain losses. trust me.
it is just that rather than being ridiculed and sued in some cases by the fans (rx8, blown cobras to name a few) todays manufactures play it safe and actually make more hp at the crank than advertised...
the least hp loss (11%) that i have seen is on a fwd low-hp car with light transmission designed to withstand 120 pounds of tq... this was verified by measuring the hp and the wheels and then the hp at the crank on engine dyno. if somebody tells you that a rwd tranny designed to withstand 400 pounds of torque has less pumping losses than the example i gave you- they dont really mean it.. or if they do they are not running on all cylinders

Hey AJ, you in on the bet I proposed to you. Kelleners M6 vs. Supercharged Viper? Recall our conversation on gearing and revs awhile ago?

Well it depends on what youre priority is, I mean - the RS4 has the disadvantage of 4 wheel drive, especially when it comes to high-speed drag-racing, for sure, but its chassi and help from front wheel drive makes the job quick and dirty with the heavier E60 M5 on a track (having no doubt that this will be the opposite with the new M3 though, cuz I'm pretty confident that M Gmbh will deliver a killer here, even when it starts turning)
But if you examine the R8, you'll find out that it outmatches the 100 hp stronger 997 turbo in recent tests, so quattro isn't only a disadvantage I'd say..
But yes, after 20-30 km/h, theres no use for heavy quattro-systems and added drive-train-losses when drag-racing..

The R8 has 60hp less the the 997TT not 100. and the RS4's handling should be compared to the M3's, not the M5's. that's the RS6 job.
And ya magazine racing is not better that real life implementation... think whatever you want buddy
Matt
Actually theres nothing wrong with Mazda, reliable, good fuel-economy and popular with insurance companies from what I've heard..
But there's nothing wrong with the magazines I quoted either - They are probably among the most recognized car testers there is out there, what they deliver in their tests are made with impartial measures and they show something that I unfortunately can't say that I think the movie you linked to does.. face the facts, the E39 M5 will get chewed by an RS4, standard specifications.. But feel free to show the opposite!?

The video from the M5board? No idea what the E39 M5 has but not that much..... I just hope Gustav shows a couple of RS4 vs. versus some other cars in this round....
