What do you guys think of this...RS5?
I was wondering if anyone saw this yet? Audi is doing all it can to stay with us, and in some cases, it may be do a little better. This definitely should give the new M3 a run for the money. 450 hp and 500lbs of torque...that's no slouch. We'll just have to wait and see what the production RS5 will actually be, but in the meantime...??

I will go on record and bet against the 450 hp / 500 foot pounds of torque. To do this, would require a complete new drivetrain....can't see Audi being able to justify the cost.
Maybe a souped up atmospheric V8.
In any case, Mr. Quattro is going to suck the power from the engine. Look at the RS4 vs. E39 M5 vids.... Quattro is a killjoy at high speeds.

I like the car but Audi will only make them for 1 year at best. No commitment.

Wow! All specs aside, that is one nice looking ride. I am impressed. But I still wouldn't buy an Audi.

I think those power and torque figures are very much believable. If you take the RS4 V8 and attach twin turbos to it, how could you not quite easily get 450 bhp and 500 lb ft of torque? With those kinds of numbers AND Quattro, the RS5 may well beat the M3 from 0-60 mph. Also, I personally think it looks awesome.

That's not what I read on the CAR web site from the UK; but you could be right.
