[quote=stumbo]I should add that it was common knowledge that he may have been responsible for stoping Rolls / Bentley from going under."

Car & Driver had an article on this a few years ago. Actually, it may have been about his brother, and I think a lot of the cars were sold. Some things I remember about the article though: 1)RR and Aston Martin (and possible others) had teams in Brunei, just for him.2) Ferarri would create cars just for him (including a Shooting Brake), and if he liked them, he'd order more in different colors.3) One time the RR boys cannibalized a Corniche in order to get an *identical looking one* up & running for him. He showed up and said: "No, I want to drive the other one", so they had to reverse the process. I also remember something about a bunch of Rollers being dumped into the Gulf. Wish I could find the article...

While we were in climatisation trials many of the guys I worked with went and joined the permanent teams out there. I heard many stories just like this. Lots of cannibalizing going on, they even pinched bits of a perfectly good BMW 5 series that appeared abandoned on an outdoor parking lot .

I am sorry your Royal Highness. I don't know what got into me this morning -- it must have been the Venti Iced Coffee along with the 500 calorie COSTCO Muffin all before noon. You have superior taste in mobile transport. I'm just jealous because I don't have a 456 estate as sexy as yours and have to wear a fake Panerai watch due to budget constraints and overall poor money management. I hope you accept my sincere apology.

When they break down on the side of the road instead of getting them towed he just leaves it for the peasants and gets a new one.

Funny. Wonder what his net worth is?

On the other side, it's not so funny thinking about the condition of his country outside the Palace fence... He is exploiting the resources fully to say the least.

Sound a bit like a commie, I know, but I'm not a fan of Monarchy.

Hes actually exploiting his neighboughs resources - thats why hes so rich. Borneo sold him the writes to drill for oil under Borneo years ago - so he drills from his country diaganely under Borneo.

Bet they've been kicking them selves for years now.

That is what Sweden is should do . We will setup diagonal drilling stations next to the Norweigan Swedish border to steal from those "Oil-Arabs of the north"
