new m5 competitor!

2007 CTS Super V, powered by a 7.0-liter 505-hp LS7 V8 lifted directly from the Corvette Z06

The Super V also features custom bodywork, huge rear tires, larger exhaust pipes and an engine sound unlike any other CTS.

With the new CTS slated for arrival as a 2008 model, speculation is that Cadillac will offer this exclusive model as a last hurrah for the exiting first-generation CTS.

If that’s not powerful enough, wait for the next-generation CTS Super V, which is rumored to be equipped with the LS9 engine—a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 with 600 hp. But you’ll be waiting at least until the 2010 or 2011 model year for that one.

Intresting! And from what i know this ls7 is very easy to tune for 500rwhp!!! Do you think it has a chance against m5?

It will be interesting to see how they handle all the power, both in the chassis and drivetrain.

we'll have to wait and see until the cadillac comes out, but i have a hunch that it will be like the mercedes amg models, quick in the straight line but struggling in the twisties

Certainly will be interesting to see of GM can sort the chassis out. The current CTS-V suffers from terrible axel hop with only 400 HP. It'll still have the rental car interior with alcantara seat inserts (Oooooo, look! It's sooooo European! )

But then again, given the current state of affairs, by 2011 GM will be barely limping along under a government restructuring settlement after they declare bankrupcy. Bunch of friggin' retards.

It looks more like an M3 competitor to me.

We'll have to wait and see when new M3 comes out. Nah,I'm sure that new M3 will eat this one for breakfast.
