Misha,

While my car is STILL under construction, it should produce about the same power (hopefully a bit more) than that CTS-V.

It doesn't look too bad. I'm assuming it's an automatic? Europe probably won't see a proper version. Just limited to personal imports.

Re: Mallet 427Ci Supercharged CTS-V vs M5?

Mallet makes a few versions of the CTS-V. The least powerful one is a breathed on engine that puts out about 470 hp. They all come with a six speed manual. The question is, while anyone can stuff a big engine into a car, can Cadillac make it as good a handler and as refined as the M5?

A BIT more?? CTS-V stock is 400, Mallet is 500 (crank HP) with your S62 and lower c.r., and big boost, I would be surprised at anything under 600 at the wheels which is about 700 at the crank!!!!
Regards,
Jerry

Re: Mallet 427Ci Supercharged CTS-V vs M5?

The stock CTS-V comes with a 6-speed manual. I'm fairly certain all tuned versions of the CTS-V will retain the manual (unless they are specifically building a drag racer where the consistent shifts of an auto are beneficial). The problem with the CTS-V is that, even in standard trim, the rear suspension can't deal with all the torque off the line, thus the car suffers from serious axel hop. Due to this, Caddy has yet to demonstrate the sub-5 sec 0-60 times they are touting.

From everything I've read, the car handles very well. It's dampers use some really neat electromagnetic viscosity adjusting fluid in the shocks for adaptive ride control (an evolution of the EDC concept). However, the early cars supposedly have quite a few assorted problems.

Re: Mallet 427Ci Supercharged CTS-V vs M5?

Jerry,

actually im almost certain that the cts in the comparison is the 427 with the additional supercharger for a total of about 680 according to mallets website

www.malletcars.com

i dont know if it will ever handle as well as an m5...never driven one, but that thing makes enough noise to scare even me

Wow.........
Just checked out the short video of the MALLETT Caddy. One word to describe it, INCREDIBLE!!!
Did you guys see the flame burst out from the exhaust as the driver was putting the car into reverse & backing it up. Thats what I call a street legal NASCAR ride!
