MItsubishi are to release a special edition for the uk of the evo viii ,there will be only 30 examples made .
Engine will be a blown 2 litre producing approx 400-425BHP ,the car will accelerate to 60 in under 4 seconds and max out between 170-180 .
Price £45,000 (c$70,000)

Oh my god,a 330 bhp evo is ferocious this is unthinkable.

I'm not really a big fan of EVO's/Impreza's. They stand out too much. I prefer to go as unnoticed as possible. It's going to be quick though. Don't know if it is going to be worth all that money. You only have to look in most car magazines and you can bet that there will always be a new special edition of an EVO or Impreza. Seems like they churn a new faster, more powerful version out every 3 months. Which doesn't bode well for residual values of the car. Still I'm sure it will be even more manic to drive like most EVO's.

they are hysterical to drive.
But any powerful 4 door suffers horrendous residuals. This is such a limited edition I reckon it will hold its value ok.

I did £24000 in 3 years on the e39 m5,I switched to coupes as they seem to hold their values better overall.

Hi Mark,

Just curious as to what this special Evo VIII will be called and if you have any further information on this vehicle. Seems like Mitsubishi has been expanding the Evo quite rapidly these past year with the addition of the FQ-260, FQ-330, and now this special version to the model line.

I looked at an Evo a few weeks ago, ok so it was an Evo 5 but still...
I guess these cars must be really exciting to drive, because they are so boring inside, you might actually fall asleep...

Didn't tempt me away from my M :nono:

it will be called a vfq.

I agree they are very boring inside, but look at the new 5 series interior, bland is a generous desription. Also normal evos sell for like £30,000 nearly half the price of an m5 ,they will also leave an M5 for dead over twisties,in fact anything but a 996 tt would be left for dead by them.
They offer amazung performance for the money, and they aint my cup of tea at all,but that doesn't mean you can't appreciate them.
