All I can say is:

:hihi:

If Mercedes-Benz can't stop their 5-speed automatic transmission from going into neutral while flooring the car, I don't even want to touch their 7-speed automatic tranmission. LOL.
But I mean, MB have really improved over the past two years.. like REALLY. Still not quite up to par with BMW/Audi/Lexus though.

In case no one noticed, this is Chrysler reclaiming bragging rights they had in the 60's. These AMG's are the same concept as the Mopar's from that time. Big, comfortable cars with monster engines that were the fastest things on the road. Mercedes never built a muscle car like this when they were independent. I honestly believe it is all Chrysler. The only way they could build cars like they did back in the day and make money on them was to use the Benz brand. I will never own one, but have a great respect for what they are doing.

Did you forget SSK models with superchargers in the 30's?
How about 300 SEL 6.3 in the 60's?
Or 450SEL 6.9 in the 70's?
Cosworth 190 in '86 for U.S. market, before any "M" cars were even available here?
450SLC 5.0 that had nothing to compete against it in '78?
400 hp 600 SE/SEL in '91 that was in a class of it's own?
Building hugely powerful cars is nothing new to MB.
