I live near where that happened. It is quite a common thing here. They steal big powerful cars, Ms, Mercedes, Audis. Sometimes they use guns, knives or whatever to threaten you and go with the car. They don't hesitate to get you injured even if you don't resist. They tried once with me and my wife, we were lucky we could escape. A friend of mine got a knife stuck in his right arm. Another acquaintance got a serious injury to his hand...
They use the cars to take drugs for north of Africa, throughout Spain, to France and northern Europe. They usually do this at night and with the power of such cars, they easily fly away from police Lagunas and Mondeos...

yes it was
We have been very lucky that time, I had just got into the car with my wife, and manually locked the doors before turning the engine on. At the moment the engine fired, there appeared 6 guys around the car with masks and baseball bats, they tried to open the doors but were surprised that they were locked already. They began to hit the windows to break them, but I was already going back and forth to get out of the parking place. Luckily the windows resisted the necesary few seconds and I could get out in a tremendous powerslide ( that was with my E36 M3 ), trying as much as I could to run over one or two of them, but they disappeared quicker than they had come

I shouldn't - but I have to laugh. Glad you only have a good story to tell.
