Koenigsegg to buy Saab !

Could this be the return of the "Performance" Saab of the 70's and 80's...... ?

I think they want it back in Swedish control !

Gustav ! Are you behind this at all ??

Cool! We have had a couple of Saabs in the last decade and both have been really good. Wouldn't hesitate in getting one to go to and from work in when my Land Rover finally gives up!

cheers

2 other board members and I went up against one, by chance, and all I can say is that during my attempt to pull against him from 70 MPH, the following were my exact thoughts in chronological order :

1)
2)
3) Check Handbrake is Down
4) Check nothing was pressing down on my brake pedal
5) Check oil and water temps for signs of potential engine failure
6)
7)

That car was SICKLY fast ! Amazing

more OT:

mine used to be fast . it had the US 2.4L engine [worked over a bit] with a GT3076R turbocharger and some other junk.

after 7 broken transmissions and 6 broken axles, I downgraded the power a bit and the car currently houses a 2.5L TT I6 from a toyota supra/soarer/chaser.

Still no comparison to even my 540. 400hp @ 2500lbs with nothing inside is not practical. Conversely 3-400hp with leather, a good sound system, quiet ride is far more enjoyable.

smile, because in the end you win -- you don't have to pop some head-ache medication in preparation for a jaunt to the grocery store.

Oh Man ! I will not forget the mental images and confusion of that evening till the day I die !

First we pulled, I was foot to the floor naturally, and he was with me at which point I was plain bermused/confused !!

THEN, and I was definitely not expecting this, his car squatted and literally pulled on me what felt like 10 car lengths, in an instant, with flames and all sorts coming out of his car !!

Whilst licking my wounds I was desperately trying to remember the closing date for the ESS Group Buy and what '05 E60 M5's were selling for at the time....

Oh yeah he had his girlfriend in the car too, damn.......

Dude, as 1 of the board members you refer to, I think I can safely say that there was very little that was stock about that Nissan, including the chromed bling wheels, the neons, the boom boom ICE, the dice hanging from the r/v mirror, and the g/f in the passneger seat with bleached blonde hair and obviously fake boobies. He sooo badly wanted to be Drexel . I also thought it was all crappy, tacky tat until the point when a 4ft plume of flames came out of his 10 inch wide tail pipe and he properly left you and Dan for dead. That thing was pulling away so fast over 100 that it must have had nitrous, either that or he'd been down to Heathrow and nicked an engine from a Boeing.

just because it's fast doesn't mean it's not tacky.

good taste does not leave room for neon lights and chrome wheels; unless of course, you're being facitious.
