Porsche 911 GT2 vs. Corvette ZR1

Nice race:

YouTube - Porsche 911 GT2 v Corvette ZR-1 - autocar.co.uk

NB: The Corvette speedo indicates in mph (switched over from kph to mph).

I don't think that was completely honest test. Here's what Motortrend got:

YouTube - ZR1 Drag Race King - Spanks GTR, 599, and GT2

as well as the full article: 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 vs Porsche 911 GT2 vs Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano vs Nissan GT-R - War of the Worlds Supercar Shootout - Motor Trend

and the fastestlaps comparison: Porsche 997 GT2 vs Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 - FastestLaps.com

Perhaps Gustav should get hold of a ZR1 and have it race a GT2?

+1

I think the guy in the ZR1 was being too cautious at the start..it seemed like he bogged off the line. If you look how MT launched the ZR1 you can see they launched it much more aggressively. Also, the Autocar guy must have been granny shifting it because there is no way that the ZR1 should have lost .3s in the 60-100mph split.

Yes, to me the Motortrend test looks more honest. The Autocar test used a runway with less than optimal traction, favoring the rear weight biased GT2.

Cant beleive how the GT2 kept up in the Autocar test, our experience was that the 997 GT2 was not that fast as the ZR1 at all.
