It's funny how perception changes in an instant.
Unless this issue is resolved by Nissan, I think I'll pass on this vehicle.
Given the current market, I can get a CLK 63 Black Series for mid 80K.

I feel the same as you. I was really hot on getting a GT-R but due to Nissan's complete silence on the gearbox issues, I am now seriously thinking of waiting for a 2010, or something completely different.
Seems interesting that Nissan execs were trying to squash this in private. If I was being called a cheat while I wasnt, I wouldnt want to settle it in the back, I'd want everyone to know the accuser was full of it. Seems questionable on Nissans part. 25 seconds is a ridiculous margin also for 1 time around a track. Nissan has got some explaining ahead of them.
Guys - this is almost three months old!!! If you follow cars closely, this is very old news. I do have to agree that the GT-R time is highly suspect.
If there are any updates, I'd like to hear about them.

Yeah... I'm sure Nissan is 'mounting their counter attack'. Still awaiting details though, haven't seen any other than a press release saying they stand by their claim.

Peace talks between Porsche and Nissan over disputed lap times at the Nurburgring have failed and the Japanese company is preparing to mount a counter-attack.
.
"It has deliberately avoided commenting until it has everything ready to prove its point."
"This forced Nissan to mount a major case with everything from independent video footage to the disputed Dunlop tyres used by former F1 driver Toshio Suzuki during his 7:25 run."
