I absolutely praise Nissan for taking the highroad.
I wish they would take the high road with their warranty dept.
I just cancelled my order on the GT-R after the dealer confirmed that NNA will void your warranty if you drive with VDC off.
VDC off is the only way to use the launch control that gets the car 0-60 in 3.5 seconds!! This is the great piece of engineering that all the publications raved about, this was their own marketing!! A hand full of GT-R's already have blown tranmissions ($20k) and Nissan will not repair them because "the little black box" recorded if the launched the car once.... This sucks and I am very pissed about this.
Someone needs to make a race between the GT2 and the Nissan GT-R on the 'ring very soon! This needs to be solved!
EDIT: By race I mean same day, same conditions etc.... And of course it has to be with production cars, and not a car provided by either Porsche or Nissan..

Now this was surprising and an idiot move by Nissan USA. There will be MANY cancelled orders after this.
I can't beleive it...

Why does a Manufacturer decide to put a performance feature on a car, any car, if you're really not supposed to or allowed to use it that way without serious consequences...

I was seriously considering getting the GT-R, but if the thread on NAGTROC has any truth, I would reconsider that decision and most likely pass on the vehicle.
Look at our M5s, many of us drive the snot out of it and not have to worry about warranty issues.

Actually the E60 M5 doesn't differ that much from the Nissan then... Launch control messes your car up - BADLY. It won't void warranty, but it will make sure you'll miss out two weeks with the car while it's being fixed at the dealer.

But the difference is BMW will not give you a bill for $20,000 like Nissan has done.

Good glad that Nissan shot themselves in the foot with their policy on launch control. This car, although it may been nice/interesting, fun to drive, was beginning to annoy me. I recently had a acquaintance say to me "how sorry I must be that I got the M6 instead of the GTR". Noooooooo, not quite.
