C&D tests the 2009 Cadillac CTS V

The numbers were not that impressive, given 4,292 lb/556 hp,though they liked the car.

Great read...sounds like its the real deal...Definitely an affordable and comparable car compared to the E60...although I still pick BMW any day of the month (except the 28th when my payment is due!!!)

The more I see of this car, the more I like it. Granted I have always liked the modern 'angular' type of body style Cadillac has been using for a few years, but the interior is also extremely driver oriented; in fact it reminds me of BMWs of old when the controls, etc. were more directed towards the driver versus the passenger. Haven't seen one in the flesh, but will take a look at it. Quality and warranty coverage from GM will make or break this car amongst drivers/owners such as those of us here. Regardless, Cadillac/GM deserves a huge pat on the back for making this car, and even if it's not for everyone, kudos to them imho.

The Cadillac bumper-to-bumper warranty is 50 kmi/4 yr I think. The powertrain warranty is 100 kmi/7 yr I believe. Not bad.

I was actually referring to another thread here on the board that mentions GM being a real PITA to work with on the previous edition of the CTS-V when trying to get repairs covered under warranty; even when the car was still well within the warranty period.
