The Z06 can hang with the M5, 997 TT, and the F430. Now before you start to flame, I am not saying it beats all those cars, but at least it is in the ballpark speed wise
Actually, the base 430 HP Corvette will hang with those cars. The Z06, with 75 more HP and an aluminum chassis, is in a different league.

When was the last time you could say that about any GM car?
Starting with the 4 cam ZR-1 Corvette from 18 years ago, GM has had competitive, if not class leading performance. No other car short of a Testarossa could do 180 mph stock in 1990, and the Vette got there quicker. This is back when a 911 Turbo (964) had just over 300 HP, and the M5 had 256.
From March 2008 C&D, “CTS-V Cadillac’s 550-HP M5 Beater”
Engine - Supercharged and intercooled 6.2 liter V-8, called the LSA, closely related to the new ZR1's LS9. Connecting rods are steel rather than titanium in ZR1, baffled conventional wet sump, latest generation 6 Eaton supercharger (slightly smaller model and one-brick Behr intercooler verses two-brick design on the ZR1), max boost 9.0 psi vs 10.5 for the LS9.
Cadillac forecasts 550 HP @ 6200 rpm and 550 lb-ft @ 4000 rpm.
Transmission - 1.) Tremec 6060 6-speed manual, also employed on the ZR1 and Dodge Viper ACR and 2.) GM 6L90 Hydra-Matic, 6-speed automatic with manumatic paddle shifting.
Suspension - Delphi’s 2nd generation magnetorheological shock absorbers, that changes viscosity instantly in response to throttle position, steering-wheel angle, braking, yaw, and vertical motion. Two driver-selectable presets, sport and touring. Spring rates 10% higher than CTS and ride height 0.6" lower.
Brakes - Brembo system with iron rotors mated to aluminum hats, vented and slotted, 14.7" front, 14.4" rear, six-pot front calipers, four-pot rears.
Tires/Wheels - Michelin PS2, 255/40 front, 285/35 rear, on forged aluminum superalloy wheels, 9.0 X 19" front, 9.5 X 19" rear. Skidpad > 0.90 g.
