M5/M6 or ActiveHybrid 5 and AM Vantage

Hello everyone. I am new and hope you can help me with a decision. Its actually a very strange one, but circumstances are making such that the 2 choices I have are as follows: I am trying to decide on a new car or new cars. Either an M5/M6 new. Or a combo or a Active Hybrid 5 and a V8 Vantage. The Hybrid I would probably drive 5/6 days a week and the Vantage only 1-2 times a week.

On one hand the M cars are the best everyday cars and just excellent all-around. On the other, I would be able to get a dream car in the vantage but potentially be spending most of my time driving the hybrid.

Would very much appreciate any thoughts or advice/experiences.

thanks! thanks!

The Aston is gorgeous, but can't even come close to the performance of the M (unless you are talking V12). If you are going to spend a lot of time just looking at the car, go Vantage. If you want torque and speed, go M.

I'd love to add a Vantage convertible to my stable at some point for some open air cruising. They are beautiful cars and more exclusive than a BMW.

Top Gear did a nice comparison of the Vantage vs M6. It's a bit outdated, but the results haven't changed.

Going from m5/m6 daily to activehybrid

Thanks for your thoughts! I too love the look of the vantage. With that choice, my daily driver will be the hybrid. I am worried it'll be a big difference (read "downgrade") driving a hybrid most of the time vs what I've gotten used to in the M's.

The Aston is an exotic toy. As such its entire reason for existence is to inspire and excite you. If it does that to the point that you'd be willing to "downgrade" the daily driver then thats your choice. But if you really love driving the M every day, I think you might regret it.

Really more information to make an informed opinion. How many in your family, daily commute, what do you really want from the car and so on? For me in metro Detroit, the M5 is perfect even for daily driving with a 60 mile commute. But if I were in a warmer and more pleasant climate CA, AZ etc. the Aston would be the DD. It isn't necessarily better than the Ms but it is an Aston and everybody loves an Aston.
