Romeo Ferraris BMW M5 to have 657 PS

A tune and exhaust can make 90 hp
I wonder how many miles the turbos will last with that amount of boost.
There are companies that make a few bolt-ons and tune for the S63 putting it @ 700 hp.

Could have a revised ECU and a sports exhaust system

Romeo Ferraris is developing a new tuning program for the BMW M5.
Autoblog.nl is reporting the model will be equipped with a revised ECU and a sports exhaust system. This will enable the twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine to produce 657 PS (483 kW / 648 hp) and 790 Nm (583 lb-ft) of torque - an increase of 97 PS (71 kW / 96 hp) and 110 Nm (81 lb-ft).
Performance specifications weren't released, but the standard model accelerates from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.4 seconds and has a limited top speed of up to 305 km/h (190 mph).

I predict that within a year you'll be able to get comparable performance from a tune available directly from bmw.

Interesting for sure.
In comparison, Velos Design has a tune for the X5M/X6M that makes similar gains.
Quote:
Velos Designwerks is pleased to announce the release of its performance software for the N63 BMW 4.4 Liter Twin Turbo V8 Engine. Producing an astounding 555 HP and 501 lb ft of torque in its stock form our engineers were able to achieve gains of over 90 HP and 130 lb ft of torque.
The tuning for forced induction cars can really bring them to life.
