F10 M5 brake fade

This has happened a twice now during town driving where im stop/starting a lot I have experienced serious brake fade to the point where it felt like the brakes were not even there!! I could maybe understand in a track but around town semi spirited driving this surely can't be right? Has anybody else experienced this?? Should I point this out to the dealers any advice will be much appreciated

I haven't, and yes, I think you should.

This car's has bad brakes. High-pitch grinding noise when braking on downhill slopes (for example entrance of underground parking), after stop/start on traffic jams and a nearly 80% brake fade after a few minutes of street racing to very unsafe standards. Waiting for ceramic brakes be released which would suit my driving style more. M5 F10 Brake system issues (update: Faulty Brake Pedal Sensor) - M5POST - BMW M5 Forum

My wife drives. '12 750Li and she had complained to me that the brakes felt "funny". Then when the car was only two months old she said she had been driving around for a while and went to stop and nearly nothing was there. Tokk it to the dealer and said no codes came up so must be an aberration. Same thing then happened a couple of weeks later but this time it was worse and had to engage the ABS to stop. Dealer had it for nearly two weeks and still couldnt find anything wrong. They contacted the rep who told them to change out the brake fluid. My wife said this initially made the brakes feel more firm or more responsive but she is fearing they may be starting to "get mushy" again. It has been 3 wks now but keeping fingers crossed. Maybe this whole time she has been complaining of brake fade and I never realized it. Couldn't this be solved with replacing the fluid witH ATE brake fluid???

The only thing ATE or other expensive brake fluid will do for you is prevent degradation/boiling under track conditions. Absolutely unnecessary for a street car under any conditions.

If they've bled the brakes and/or changed the fluid and you still have a problem, it is very serious. They need to fix it immediately.

BMW's have been doing this to me since my first car 15 years ago; just a simple change to Motul RBF 600 fluid and you are good.

Don't know why the don't do it from the factory.
