Happy Father's Day-but still can't order US M5?

Well, April 23 has long gone and so have the other 'order dates'. Major Houston delaer says as of Friday June 15 they still do not have any order allocations.

This is starting to feel very anti-climatic.

there were threads a while back that listed a few dealers with allocations. I do not believe that all dealers will get one, many have had to deal with dealers outside of their own states.

Good Luck & Happy Father's Day

ordered new M5 recently

I have been on waiting list at downtown Houston dealer since last year (#2 on list). My dealer rep just ordered car 2 weeks ago, will be here in 2 months according to him? 2 allocations only so far for first delivery at this delaership (Advantage).

BAB, Good to hear yours is in the system.

I have had a deposit since 2009.

And today I got the call to come and book the order...I was there in :45 min.

Now, the real wait begins...

Yep, his posts were what got me moving. For some reason, I hadn't thought of ED prior to reading them. Talked with the ATL guy and he was going to send over the numbers, then he went dark. I just want to get the car back to the US by Thanksgiving, so I think I still have a little time.

I saw some posts suggesting BMW was not happy the way he was "abusing" the ED pool for the benefit of his own sales volume and shut him down (i.e., he's not allowed to place any ED orders for a while). Seems the spirit of the ED pool is for dealers to offer the option to their local customers, not to solicit orders from around the country. Makes sense as Adrian (the guy in Atlanta) told me I would have to take delivery here in the states in Atlanta and he could not send the car to my local dealer. In the end it didn't matter for me because I ended up doing ED through my local dealer anyway.

He reached out this morning, and we're back on track. I'm local, so we're good to go. Waiting for him to get back to me with next steps.

Question I have on interior options. You guys may know. I've selected Cohiba Brown. I'm looking at the 5K, and wondering what it gets me. Is it really just 5K for the color? Is the material different/ something better about the seats? I'll eventually talk this through with Adrian, but thought I'd ask you guys. If it's just the color, I think I can live with Black. I'd rather have the B&O than the brown seats.
