a car that is just nearly perfect in almost every way, was the take home message of the article for me.

Very impressive - great review. Only negatives for me would be the turbo lag.

Good grief the car is fast though. I'm not sure I could exercise discipline on the highway - it was tough enough with the E60. I imagine it will be the 'most ticketed M5 ever'.

Just for some perspective on the F10 M5's straightline performance, Motor Trend tested a CL65 a few years back with almost the exact same performance #'s:

Ferrari 612 Scaglietti vs. Mercedes-Benz CL65 AMG - Engine, Chassis, Dimensions, Price, Warranty & Performance - Luxury Sport Coupes Comparison - Motor Trend

0-60: 3.8s
0-100: 8.5s
1/4m: 11.8 @ 120.9mph

With just a tune, drop-in air filters and drag radials, my CL65 went 11.209 @ 123.7mph (125.6 mph on the Vbox that particular run). I imagine that a tune and drag radials will yield similar improvements on the F10 M5....and then exhaust mods will get the F10 M5 into the 10's.
