They do mention that the power to weight as 7lb/hp which is not bad..........and about 1 lb/hp better than the E60 M5 if not mistaken. Looking for the pearls here, does anyone know how that can translate or equate to the 0-100kph #'s so close to the E60? 4.4sec is not bad for a big sedan but not my M5!!!!! This is only about .2-.3 faster than the previous. So not sure what they are talking about ie the hp may be low and the wt may be ok but why these #'s? (0-200-0 too)

Are you actually simple? I need to know so I can decide how scathing to be. Can you not actually count the number of pots on a calliper? The three round circles? Which you would probably (I'm no genius) multiply by two to achieve the piston count?

What doesn't make sense? What is Gustav going to tell you? He doesn't work for BMW. The people who wrote the press release do.

The numbers are official. That is the end of the story.

I do not know what you expect.

The car has 552 BHP. Let's get over that and move on. If you do not like it then go and get your deposit back.

Back in Sep 04 at the Frankfurt International Auto show, since I had my US Spec E60 M5 on order (was stationed at Ramstein) , I was speaking to an "M" rep at their booth and was discussing the performance figures they had established at 4.7sec 0-100kph for the upcoming beast. The very knowledgebale M rep told me that the car is designed to meet those performance goals when fully laden, ie. passengers, fuel and luggage. Now we know our cars can at times be faster than that, especially if just one person in it. So, if this continues to be true, an unladen F10 M5, with a driver could register in the high 3's 0-60mph. Food for thought.

I'm not too crazy about the interior but the rest of the car (especially what's under the bonnet) is really nice...

The M5 F10 is faster then the e60 M5 in a straight line. It's a bit heavier but got a lot of more torque, more HP and a fast DCT 7-spd gearbox.

Horsepower wars cannot go on forever, without a break. It's like musical chairs. At the time, the current CTS-V was being designed, it was ok to have that much displacement, and nothing wrong with supercharging it, to boot. At the time the F10 ///M5 was being designed, that approach was not OK. Right now, the constraints of societal norms (fuel economy and the popularity of green'ness), prevent BMW from taking her to say, 600+ hp. So BMW was left without a path to more horsepower, when the music stopped. I'll bet anything the next CTS-V won't have much more than 600hp, if it even has that.
