Gustav's edit below: movies My released videos so far:

YouTube - BMW M GmbH Secret Garage: M3 Touring, M6 CSL + all M models

YouTube - BMW M3 Touring (E46) at BMW M GmbH: only one in the world

YouTube - Premiere: BMW M3 Sedan lightweight with more power produced in low series

YouTube - BMW M3 Pick-Up in detail and presentation: April's Fool jone 2011 BMW M Garching

YouTube - BMW M8 Prototype BMW M Garching: important step towards McLaren F1 engine

YouTube - BMW M5 E34 Convertible Prototype at BMW M GmbH

YouTube - BMW M5 E60 DCT DKG 25th Anniversary BMW M5 E60 Prototype

A BMW official, Dirk Arnold, who is the head of product communications has spoken to the public and announced a few things:

1. The M3 "pickup/ute" that was spotted on the ring a few days ago was an early April Fools Joke.

2. The F10 M5 will be presented on April 1st 2011 at an M press event in Munich, Germany.

3. Also appearing at the event will be a few one-off M vehicles that never made it into production, including the M3 Pickup. I am assuming (probably a safe guess) that the one-off 25th Anniversary E60 M5 will also be present.. along with possibily other vehicles that none of us have ever seen or heard of. Should be an interesting event to say the least.

See the attached article

This means that the Shanghai Autoshow (hosted on April 23-28) will not debut the F10 M5. Instead a BMW organized/hosted event in Munich will be the first to display the F10 M5 on April 1st. This Munich M5 debut makes more sense than a Shanghai debut, if you all can remember back to how the F10 5er's were displayed to the public for the first time. However, I'm sure we can all still expect to see the F10 M5 at the Shanghai Autoshow. Also, this year the New York Autoshow at the Javtis Center outside the Lincoln Tunnel will overlap the Shanghai show. It would again make sense for the F10 M5 to appear in NYC as well.. BMW has enough prototypes dressed in spy camo rolling around (one currently in California).

T-9 days until we finally see the F10 M5

As expected.. Thanks Gustav. Maybe bring your iPad with the SD card attachment and upload a few live photos!

Can't wait for this event... It's about time. I'm thankful that I do not have to wait until late April for the F10 M5.

Why should we not believe that this is the April Fools joke? And bmw doesn't take one off cars to 'ring to have any early joke on everyone, so I'm not sure why this should be viewed as true, imo.

We shall see..

Well, Gustav, you are "1 in 5" or else they finally are considering you to be "Press". Either way, it's a win for you. Congratulations on getting to go. There are a lot of envious people out here on the Board.

Maybe the will surprise everyone with an xDrive M5 so they can make that 3 second 0 - 60 mph time :7:

Questions

1) Will it have a carbon fiber roof, panels, etc.
2) Is the 6MT rumor true?
3) 19/20 inch wheels?

I would be curious what the undercarriage/exhaust looks like.

Get some pics please!

One in five is quite exclusive for the unveiling of the next Super Saloon! Maybe BMW M is paying attention to the M5B chatter more than we know.

- What is the price point? (initial barrier to entry)
- What is the annual production target? (potential resale value)

Hope you can get a video interview with Dr. Sigler again.

Hey Gustav,
I haven't posted in a while, but I remember rumors about the M5 F10 having a KERS system?

1) Will the USA get the individual options that we have seen else were?
2) Why is it only Germany that gets the option of the better engine and limiter increase?
3) How soon can orders be placed for it?
