Anyway, WOW! I thought for sure a turbo engine wouldn't like absolute crap. I guess the guys at the Bavarian factory are tweaking the sound to an extent now. Nice low grumble and I'm sure it'll sound better as you rev it higher.

Now that we see it testing officially in snow conditions (I know I don't really take out my M5 for snow driving but whatever...), let's the OTHER side of testing. AKA Performance testing! AKA the Nurburgring segment! I hope BMW releases a Nurburgring testing video showcasing some of the F10 M5's performance capabilities and acceleration

So far, the F10 M5 is impressing me more and more despite the switch to Turbo Engines with lower redline and less aggressive sound.

Yes, they are saying they worked alot with the engine so it responds faster than X5M and X6M, but not as fast as the V10 of course

But a 7250+ ROPM redline is quite high for a turbocar I would say?

Also, if you notice, the temperature and gas gauges completely turn off when the car is not on. I wonder if you will be able to change what is displayed on those two small gauges. They look like LED displays.

The tach readline looks more like 7150 or 7200 to me. But that's higher than the 7000 limit on the X5M engine (thank goodness).

And its nice to see the SMG/DCT style shifter for the DCT transmission, so those ugly automatic rumors can be put to rest.

Thanks for sharing Gustav! All these teaser videos are great, but who CARES what it is like on snow?! BUY a 4x4 for snow! I want to see some figures, some times and some track action! I want to know how much past 200mph it goes and how quickly it gets there, NOT how it doesn;t roll backwards on the snow! Anything less than 600bhp will be an epic fail

otherwise it'd be too big of a hp gap with the 550i

Actually, the new one is a direct evolution of the E60. With the exception of the motor, everything about the new 5 series is more like the E60. Really, the interior of the E60 is so much nicer than all the previous models, it is one place where no improvement is needed. The V10 is a dream and I am going to miss that. It is the GT3 of the M5 world. The E60 has the same displacement as the E39 V8 but 100 hp more. A true supercar motor. I personally think it is a mistake to follow suite with all the other makes and do a TT V8. Basically another porsche panamera. AMG is doing the same thing. How original. Yes, it will have better mileage. But the ***** of the best sounding BMW engine ever made is a sad day in my opinion.
