Good point. We'll see about that.

From the engine standpoint again it looks like MB AMG with the 5.5L V8 TT will out do the ///M division.
Also the new 4.4L V8 TT engine coming will not very tuneable. Coming from factory with 2 small Garrett turbos and running 21 psi of boost!
I mean there's not much more run unless you change turbos.
Anyway I love the S85 platform. The numbers quoted from the new V8 TT are not much more spectacular than the S85. Top end was not any better. The new M would appear to be somewhat heavier.
We'll see, all's speculation but the 21 psi is a fact.

Source for the 21 PSI boost figures? 21 PSI of boost sounds insane
To my understanding, the 4.4 V8 TT in the X6m are running just under 10 PSI boost..
Respectfully disagree engine will not be tunable.. all speculations at this point but i doubt seriously 21 PSI boost from M GmbH

Nope

Look closely. The lug nuts are in between the spokes. Just has no center cap.

First please read carefully. I did not say it would not be tuneable! I said it would be susceptable to limitations. As Dick Fidd correctly stated this will be very dependent on the stock internals and turbos.
Yes it will run 21 psi boost. I have my sources and have spoken to 2 master technicians. I tell you what. Lets bet $1.

If 21 PSI of boost is being used, then the internals "should be strong", lets wait and see.
IMO there is going to be a lot of residual heat to dissipate under that bonnet.

She is pretty in many ways...a bit M3 like however - as others have already stated... I would own it. Can't wait to hear what it sounds like!

Well, I've ben flat out on the 'ring in the 'ring taxi E60 M5, and in other E60 M5's, and flat out on the 'ring in E39 M5's (not mine of course ) as well on the 'ring in M3's/Z4M's/Porsche's etc, and these 5 series based cars, even the smaller by comparison E39 M5, are just too big and fat for the 'ring - - imho - - they are really designed for old farts like me, to be cruising for hours at 150+mph on the 'bahn...

So this new 5 series, looks like even more of the same - - way too much iron...

I'm ashamed to say it, but I'm leaning more and more towards an E90 M3, if fatter and fatter is the direction of M5's...
