Yep, full fat 4 pager. Big news is active Aero, even has flaps that alter the wind turbulence around the wheels!
Also claimed is the fact that BMW are still considering two compact 50bhp supercapacitors mounted either side of the drive shaft for an on demand 10 sec 100bhp boost!!!!!!!!!! Believe this when I see it though.

0-62 in 4.4 seconds. Delimited top speed 188 MPH. Feels like a step backwards and definitely not impressed.

i'm thinking this is a very conservative figure.

somehow i don't see m division letting it out the door only to be beat to 60 by the e63 and cts-v...

anyone actually see them doing this??? this would sure be a leap away from m tradition and heritage...but holy SH$T!

Agreed, although keep in mind this is what CAR mag have claimed. The official facts have not yet been released but going by years gone by and the fact that a good friend of mine is the assistant editor for the mag and I happen to know he has very high access to a source within BMW M I reckon these pictures and figures are going to be very close if not exact.

It's the KERS. They are (or were) using it in F1, but this would be a first for a production BMW.

Time will really tell what the numbers are. they had to post something about 0-60 and since the X5M and X6M can do 0-60 in 4.5 seconds it only made sense to make the M5 4.4 seconds.

I think it may be safe to assume that 0-60 in the M5 will be 4 sec flat or so.

Hope it can truley surpass the outgoing car. And hopefully it will do so beyond a hundreths of a second. .....
