If these rumors prove true, for those who rue the next generation there is always the Dinan stroker engine--still a high revving N/A V-10 with SMG with significantly improved torque over the stock engine. By the time the F10 comes around, you can buy a used E60 M5 and a stroker motor for less than the cost of a new M5.

Dinan: free flow exhaust, Stage 3 engine software, high flow throttle bodies, high flow air mass meter/intake Assemblies, stage 2 suspension, 13% underdrive crankshaft pulley, 5.7 liter stroker engine (I think I am finally done)

praying this is a 550. And if BMW ends up definitely putting a slushbox in it, I can't even express how disappointed I will be with them. I'm praying for a SMG, but 6 speed would also be good.

In all fairness to bmw, they are working on releasing an 8 speed auto that is actually able to skip gears (IE go directly from 8th gear to 2nd gear). I still would hate to see an auto in an ///M car tho...Oh wait that already happened, the X5 & X6 ///M

The for argumeent that its a 550 is that has the same hp figures as the x5/ x6 M.

The against arguement is that it has quad exhaust and most importantly, why would BMW pay some much attention on the 550 and test it now as if its next super sedan?

I think this is the next M5 but im skeptical about the claimed 555 hp figure.
