V8 turbo confirmed for F10 M5 =(

http://blogs.edmunds.com/straightlin...-1-series.html

V8 turbo engine confirmed for next M5 by BMW insiders I think the X5M/X6M are beasts but the M5 should have a 'special' engine IMO. I guess I'm just used to the e60 M5 having a unique engine rather than a higher tuned engine used in other models.

Why do you think a TT V8 with more horsepower and better fuel mileage than the current V10 is a bad thing?

um...you know bmw is most famous for their turbocharged f1 engines...

this is a good thing -- can't wait to see the posters with the brabham f1 car side by side w/ the f10

and another 5TH GEAR F1 car vs M5 race this time brabham vs F10...that's gonna be ridiculous

as far as phasing out the N/A engines, it does suck because i love my non-turbo/supercharged engines, but i'd rather see a low displacement motor vs a 6+liter v10

+ all the E60 M5 owners will reap the benefits, by default the E60 will have a similar status as the E39 only more for it's engine than it's styling

M6 owners were safe from the start, the m6 hadn't been out in years so there was nothing to compare it to unlike the e60

edit:

am in the mood for some PARMALAT now

OH! and now f10 owners can stick a white PARMALAT sticker on their blue cars...that's a big win right there

I'm sorry, did you just compare the new 4.4l TT to the magnificent, amazing and legendary M12?? You have to be kidding me?

Still just speculation. I will beleive it when BMW say it. I refuse to beleive they will allow Audi to have the upper hand with 572bhp.

Nope, same engine as the X5M and X6M has, but maybe little more boost to make it "special"

...the 4.4l wasn't confirmed though, so here's to hoping bmw is just trying to keep expectations down for a new engine

as far as the x5/6ms yeah i don't care for them, they where just made for the tools who bought M badges for their X5s, but i dunno about knocking the engine is it really that bad?
