This is the first bit of good news I have heard about the F10. Interesting that a V10 is being considered as well as SMG. Don't ban me for this Ashok, but I think I'd prefer SMG over DCT to retain more of a manual feel (so long as the newer version of SMG is more reliable).

I'll be surprised if we see SMG IV. I like the SMG III, it feels pretty much like a manual (for a lazy shifter like me). It is the right transmission for the car. I've driven the M3 (sedan) with DCT and it's much like an automatic in feel, not SMG or manual. But I think we all/most of us definitely want the V10 over the V8 TT.
