Helpful hints?

A couple of recent items may help clarify what the next generation 5-series will be like.

First, BMWweb.tv has clips of both the X5 M and now the X6 M - and this clip describes a V8 M Turbo Engine with twin scroll turbo chargers, enhanced, of course.

And then today Left Lane News speculates what the F10 could look like. I like this face!

Here is another rendering, from the German magazine Autozeitung.

The headline states that F10 will hit German showrooms May 2010. If so, I would guess that we will see the first F10s here in the States in October 2010.

The next question is (and this is more important to me): when will the F10 M5 be released? The E60 M5 arrived here 2 years after the base model, and I think the new M3 also took 2 years to arrive. But both of those models came out with brand new engines - and the next M5 may use the engine that is being developed for the X6 M and X5 M. So hopefully we won't have to wait as long to see the F10 M5. I would love to see it come out one year after the base F10 release, but recent BMW actions seem to dictate a longer wait.

If the next M5 gets here by the Fall of 2011 - I'm keeping my 550 until then. If we won't see it until late 2012, I will likely get something else to drive until then. What to get? Used E60 M5, new M3, Cadillac CTS-V, Audi S5? Hmmmm.
