Man, I hope there are some real compelling reasons to buy the F10 M5 and F12 M6. The basic shape of the car is bland and this awful turbocharging is making me think I want to do a Dinan Stroker kit or get another marque

I am with you there. I am closely following Darren's situation. I have resisted the stroker temptation, but the itch keeps nagging at me, especially knowing the the next gen will be turbocharged and after seeing all of those awesome videos. No doubt if things in Texas progress in a positive direction, more Dinan strokers will be sold as a result. I wonder if Darren will be earning a commission on them.
With the introduction of the stroker motor, I get a sense that the times are a changing for the better for Dinan.

I wouldn't criticize the looks of a test mule too much, it's like trying to see how your child will look from a sonogram. Why the objection to a turbo? We've seen 335's with a $500 software tune run with E60 M5's, imagine what a turbo'd M5 may be capable of. The biggest compaint about the M5's powerband is the significant lack of torque at lower rpm's, no one complains about the lack of torque on BMW's current turbo'd cars.
Keep in mind I'm probably a little biased in favor of turbo's, I own a (inline 6) HPF Turbo M3. 800 hp ftw.

You can look at the new F01 7 series to see what the next generation of 5 and 6 series will look like. So meh...
No one will argue against power but the current V10 deliver all the torque up high which is why these M5 / M6s surprise people. Turbos will have good low and mid range but they need to absolutely have a great top end.

I am sure BMW will make us all happy. I remember when the current generation m5 came out alot of people didnt accept the design. and now ppl are worried the current designs will change!
