Recent articles indicate that the next M5 will share the twin-turbo version of the V8 that will be in the X6 and other cars (perhaps with tweaking and 500+ bhp). The V10 will no longer be used. The new engine will use Efficient Dynamics (or some similar name) to also achieve better gas mileage. Admirable.
The current BMW Roundel magazine calls the Dinan S3-M5, the best vehicle the driver had ever driven, but it comes at a price of $75k over and above the cost of the vehicle. If this is realistic, then the G-Power vehicle, may be the best deal around. On the other hand, is there realistically anyone working on a single or twin supercharger or turbo for the M5?
The Dinan S3-M5 does appear to be spectacular, but it also seems to me that it is coming so very late in the life of the e60 (probably one more year) that limited cost recovery will occur upon a resale.
