which one is the article talking about...the one coming out later this year or the one scheduled for 2012? If it's 2012 model, are their any pics of new 5 series/M5?

Why the anti-supercharger attitude? You could have a repeat of the B5 Audi S4 or the 03' mustang cobra where 100+ hp can be added for virtually no money!

I had thought the future was going to go in the direction of a V8 twin turbo?

The 5.5L V10 naturally aspirated motor to me sounds more in keeping with the spirit of ///M cars.

Is this known with relative certainty?

A 50 hp increase is a disappointment. Actually, I consider that a joke. Puhleese. Audi's got a 580hp RS8 and Merc will certainly give their AMG customers alot more than 550 in the next gen. I'm going AMG if the next M only has 550 horses.

They need to build a 5.5L V10 with 600 horse that revs to 9000 rpm. Its not going to happen, just speaking out loud, but would be nice Like a few have said, if the M5 is only getting another 50 horse thats not good enough and cars like the cts-v would be a serious contender if not faster? Atleast it won't be a ttV8
